Carefully considered design is the key to functional small lot homes

Our recently completed home for clients in inner city Petrie Terrace is a perfect example of well-executed small lot housing.  Nest Bespoke Homes were proud to design and construct this new 3 bedroom character Queenslander on a lot totaling a mere 180 square metres in area.

As lots in Brisbane become smaller with houses positioned closer to one another, design becomes even more critical to ensure that key principles such as a functional layout, cross flow ventilation, adequate & balanced light, privacy and landscaping opportunities are maintained.

Only through very careful design we were able to create a generous, light-filled home featuring three bedrooms, double carport, two living areas, a substantial kitchen, two bathrooms (with double showers and a freestanding bath), with space to entertain next to the poolside alfresco area. Ensuring the home respected the neighborhood character was a key principal and we were pleased to design a home which fitted in seamlessly with the existing urban fabric.

Despite the clients being located in Sydney during the entire construction process, we keep them up to date with progress in real time using our online portal. To our delight, our client’s feedback has been that despite being located interstate, it’s been their best experience yet with a builder.
